Cameron's hair is really starting to grow... and it's curly! Johnnie had curly hair when he was young, whereas mine was fairly straight with a wave. We both have relatives with naturally curly hair. Time will tell if Cameron's hair will stay curly or straighten out.
Cameron plays very well by herself after breakfast. I usually have her toys piled in her basket to start with and she has fun spreading them around her play area :)
Cameron also likes to help me fold laundry...
and supervise me while I empty the dishwasher :)
The quickest way for a mother to get her children's attention is to sit down and look comfortable...
Cameron is always exploring and trying new things. She has discovered that board books are great for reading, chewing on, and sliding across the floor.
I'm not quite sure what she is attempting to discover with her plastic rings... :)
Cameron is finally doing well in the bike trailer so this week we went for a family ride on base. It was in the early evening and Cameron actually slept almost the entire time.
Last weekend we went downtown to the Honolulu Museum of Art. If you are a fellow military family, you may want to check out a local museum for yourself this summer. Blue Star Museums is a partnership program with "more than 2,000 art centers, museums, and exhibits (across the country) offering FREE entrance for all active duty, National Guard and Reserve military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day."
A few Hawaii museums, including the Museum of Art, are participating in the Blue Star Museum program. This museum has a small but decent collection of art and sculptures from different eras, styles, and cultures.
The reason we made the trip to the museum was to see a gallery of art and photographs by Georgia O'Keeffe and Ansel Adams! I am a huge Ansel Adams fan... his black and white landscapes and nature close-ups are so inspiring. The photographs on display at the museum were ones that he was hired to take, many of businesses and people, so they weren't all of his well-known scenic look. Still, it was worth going to see.
No photography was allowed in the gallery so I took my own Ansel Adams inspired photo of a corridor at the museum...
All of the art overloaded Cameron's brain. She napped hard while we enjoyed lattes at a coffee shop.
Only five weeks left until our baby turns 1 year old! Time to start planning a birthday party and a one year photo shoot.

“A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels,
in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed.”
~Ansel Adams
