"Share the Love" Care Package Giveaway

Johnnie deployed at the end of October when Cameron was only 6.5 weeks old.  I had fun putting together and sending him many care packages while he has been gone.  He will be returning later this month so to celebrate the occasion, I am giving away a special care package (in a decorated box of course!) to one lucky winner!

This is a "Share the Love ~ End of Deployment Care Package" and everything in it has a meaning:

Cameron, Dulce, and I have been going nuts missing Johnnie since he left!  Our hearts are beating wildly at the thought of him coming home.  He will wrap his arms around us and we will cover him with kisses.  And you know that after a long deployment, someone will be getting "lei'd" ;)

Let me explain that in case you missed something:

nuts = a 4.5 oz bag of Hawaiian Host Macadamia Nuts, dry roasted with sea salt

hearts beating wildly = (similar to drinking a lot of caffeine) a 6 oz bag of Mountain Thunder Premium 100% Kona Coffee, whole bean French Roast.  Kona coffee is coffee grown on the big island of Hawaii.

wrap his arms around us = a baby quilt (very popular in the Hawaiian markets) to wrap around yourself or a loved one (or to give away as a baby gift).  This quilt is just like the one you've seen Cameron laying on in many photos and videos (click here or here for examples).  The quilt measures approximately 41" x 50" and is machine washable (gentle cycle, low heat).  It has loops on the back for hanging as a wall decoration in a playroom or nursery.

kisses = an 8 oz bag of Hershey's Kisses with Macadamia Nuts.  These are only sold in Hawaii (you can find them online but the price and shipping is ridiculous) and they are creamy, chocolately, nutty amazingness!

lei'd = a polished kukui nut and seashell lei.  Kukui nuts are from the Kukui Tree, which is the state tree of Hawaii.  Kukui nut leis are very common here and worn by both men and women for formal and casual events.

ENTER TO WIN!  Due to the high cost of shipping to foreign countries, this giveaway is only open to U.S. residents and military with an APO/FPO address, aged 18 and older.  Entries will be accepted until 11:59pm on Saturday, April 13, 2013.  Winner will be posted by April 15.  You may receive up to  5 entries in the giveaway as listed in the Rafflecopter box below.

Good luck!

  1. Oh this is so exciting. I know I really can't win cause I live in Australia; but just in case I do I'll have it sent to a friend in Seattle and my husband can collect when he visits them in August and bring it home to me. Wouldn't that be a real way to 'share the love'? I've followed your post since I read your instructions about how to get to Happy Quilt in South Korea; and I'm still stitching fabrics I bought there on April 6 last year - thanks to you!!! 7. I found your blog last year when searching for places to hike in South Korea. It was fun and comforting reading through your experiences there. While I don't have a little one myself (yet) I love following your adventures with Cameron and find myself tucking away ideas, products, etc that you talk about as they seem very in line with what I'd like to do. Thanks for sharing your life - and a care package - with everyone! If I get it I'd be sharing with my husband and friends! :)

  14. Angela: I have been reading your blog for over a year now. My husband and I were stationed in Korea from 2010-2012 and I referred to you blog often for travel ideas. We recently PCSd to Fort Sill, OK and we are expecting our first baby in August. I would love to share this with my sweet hubby who has been a blessing during a very rough pregnancy!
