Rice Fields

Back in July, I did a post on the growing Fields of Rice that fill the countryside here.  In the photos of that post, you can see the rice transform from small scraggly sprigs to lush tall grass.  Now the rice is changing once again.  Stocks have appeared among the slender leaves, bending with the weight of the rice grains at the ends.  Each pearly white grain of rice is protected by a fuzzy hull.  It won't be long now before the rice is ready for harvesting.
